Steven Spielberg made the velociraptors in JP considerably larger than they were believe to be. However, during post-production, the Utahraptor was discovered, which fit the JP velociraptors dimensions perfectly. (From: 'Dean')

They did an awsome job on this movie i tink it was probly the best they could do with a sequal to a sequal. The only bad part was the sort time but the action really covered up for the time loss, i recomend this movie to all JP fans around the world!!
The best film ive seen in years!! ()

Wow!!Ive just come back from seeing jp3,and im completly blown away.I havent been that excited while watching a movie since...The lost world(which i luved). This is deffinetly my favorite of the trilogy, its darker, funnier, eerier and damn its scary. You feel as if the dinosaurs are always stalkin the humans, and just as one huge action peace ends...another begins, which means theres no room for boring talk,or crappy charecter development, this is just action, action, and action. It just doesnt let you come up for breath. When i came out from jurassic park, there were two things that stayed in my mind forever....The t-rex v.s the cars, and the raptors in the kitchen.Whilst coming from tlw....it was the t-rex v.s the trailer, and the rex in san diego. But in this movie i can honestly say that there are atleast 10 major action scenes, that ill never forget...The spino battle with rex(blown away),the raptor chase in the buildings(the scariest part of the movie),and soo much more.....but my favorite was the spino verus the barge ship,in which the humans are trapped in a steel cage, underwater, this was much more tense than the rex v.s the trailers in tlw!!All i wanna say is well done to joe johnston.......IT WAS AMAZING(And no it wasnt too short)10/10**

What I think about the film . ()
    A review by Spino+T-Rex (7/18/01 7:23:04 AM)
Ok , it was good , but now where as good as The Lost World Jurassic Park or Jurassic Park , why ? It's way too short ! 1 Hour and 20 mins ! What did u expect ?! The T-Rex/Spinosaurus fight was too short either , and so little people died ! My mom , dad , brother , uncles , aunties , cousins and me all together there are 23 people , and ALL think it was not as good as the first two films . Why so little blood ? Why so many dinosaurs but so little parts to do with some of them ?! The Ceratosaurus and some plant eating dinosaurs part arw way too short ! If they had made it longer with more people dying , more Velociraptors killing , more blood , Ceratosaurus killing , Stegosaurs attacking...making the film 2 hours , then it would have been the best film ever !
    Exciting and Entertaining.....I think ()

Caution: This review may contain some spoilers.

Anyways, To the movie. First question I want to try to answer is "Is it too short?" The simple answer is NO. Everything gets played in at perfect timing. If it were to be a half hour longer, it would have been filled with Kirby and wife trying to fix marital problems. Now, to the story. I personally thought that the intro to the plot was played out better than TLW. Mainly because it doesn't give away the story in one sentence like TLW did. We meet Alan, and Ellie after we have the lovely disaster with the parasail. The audience then sees how good of a relationship that Alan has with Ellie, and theories of Raptor intelligence are discussed. Alan is later asked to guide a "rich" family over Isla Sorna, and he cautiously accepts. Probably with the very eager Billy. Well, as we all know, s**t happend. then we hear Tea Leoni screaming. I really wished that they hadn't taken full advantage of the THX sound system with that. As we all probably know, They are actually searching for their son, Eric. The Spinosaurus, can he deliver a punch? You bet your ass he can. Now I have to bring up another issue that people were concerned about. The Rex/Spino fight. Does that Deliver? Yes. I feel that this is the only "short" part of the movie. The all mighty Tyrannosaur is dethroned. Unfortunatly, the movie doesn't go into InGen that much. Only two ore three lines. They also don't elaborate on how the Raptors changed, or how the Spinosaurus wasn't on InGen's "list". I can't explain how well the action sequence are played out, your on your own on that one. They are unbelievable. The Pteranodons. Great additons to the dino cast. Everything was choreographed perfectly, and everything was just right. A great ending battle with the Spino, and we're almost home free. What i seemed to have missed was the Raptor/Pteranodon battle. I thought that this was going to be in the movie, but it's not. Another thing I missed was the man in the suit. It doesn't say anything on who the man is. Now, the reason why I only gave it 3 stars is because of the ending. It doesn't leave you thinking enough. I agree with the others and say that it did end abruptly. Other than the ending, it was an extremely promising film that I personally thought was better than TLW, but nowhere near the original. I suggest that everyone go see it. This is an extremely great action flick. On a last note, the plot seems to be made up as the film continues; Like how the script was made up along the way.

      I give it 3 stars out of FIVE I don't do a 0-4 thing. I do 0-5. That's just me : )
It was sooo cool guys! ()

Like an awesome theme park ride. Everything was perfect, the spino-rex fight kicked!!! The raptors rule, and the dude next to me was huge! But I thought I could take him. Oops a little off subject. So everyone, go see it!
    Big Disappointment ()
    A review by beijdak (7/18/01 2:59:03 AM)
I saw a sneak preview of JP3 tonight at the theater I work at. I was so pumped to see this film too, I was calling today, Jurassic Tuesday.

Oh man, this film was a big disappointment. As soon as the opening sequence kept dragging along (with no payoff either!) I knew this was probably going to be bad.

If you have been visiting this site everyday for the past six months (like me), you basically know the entire movie already. The theatrical trailers didn't give away too much, but the TV spots spoiled about every "good" scene in the film. I was never scared or "terrified" like Tea Leoni claimed I would be in her press conference.

There was no gore and hardly any violence! Heck, the MPAA could have rated this film PG. A dino movie like this needs to be rated R. To get the full impact I think you need to see lots of blood and people being ripped apart, shredded, crunched, you name it. You're not gonna find that in this movie, this is the "summer family friendly" kind of film.

I think the animatronic dinosaurs were the best. The CG dinos were very well done, but you could easily tell they were CG. The "big battle" between the giants was really cool but it was too short!!! Oh man, if you blink you miss dang thing.

Not enough people died either. You never thought any of the main characters were in any danger . . . because they weren't! They put the characters in impossible situations and they always managed to get out of them.

I can't even believe how bad the ending is. What the heck was Johnston and his team thinking? I basically lost the little respect I had for the film during those closing 8 minutes.

It was a HUGE mistake to have been writing the script while filming. I can now relate to the words Macy spoke way back in December. He was right all along.

As for the people who gave this film 3.5 stars, what the heck were you thinking? What film were you watching? I can't figure out how one could give such a high rating to such a waste of time.
Entertaining but no plot or continuity! ()
    A review by JonsMovies (7/18/01 2:50:07 AM)
JP3 is one hell of a breathtaking, action-packed, enjoyable rush. For most people, that's enough. Unfortunately, my problem with TLW and especially JP3 is the plot. NOTHING besides maybe a little Grant character development is added to the JP story with this film. It's a drill on how to survive Jurassic Park and get off the island alive. No questions regarding Hammond, Ingen, or even the Spino's presence is answered in the film. The ending is too rushed and the "opening for JP4" is somehting anyone with half a brain would've figured out with the final shots of TLW. For having such a rushed schedule and barely any script, the film still turned out surprisingly well. It's a great summer action film that I just wish would've had more of a plot. Then I could call it a great JP film as well...
    VERY WELL DONE ()

I thouroughly engoyed this movie. It was a little short though. I like Macy's comic relief at some points and its very action packed. Although some kids were complaining about the ending, it is still a very good movie. Its Worth the money I paid to see it. I will see it again later today....

ill keep it short and sweet. i just came back from the nyc premiere and the movie was fantastic, alot better than the lost world. not quite on par with the original but satified my need for action and adventure. a worthy movie to be added to the feanchise.
